» All Streaming Video Recording Software - compare main features easily
Flazr ( Freeware / Mac OS X, Linux, Windows ) is a Java implementation of the RTMP protocol used for streaming videos to Adobe Flash player based clients.
Flazr can connect to an RTMP stream and save it to an FLV file for offline viewing. Flazr is a freeware open-source software.
Flazr is not a user-friendly software. It is more for programmers than for regular users.
Flazr requires Java 1.5 or greater.
Flazr features
- RTMP Streaming Server
- Video On Demand, seek and pause support
- Publish / Broadcast live streams
- FLV, F4V / MP4 / H.264 support
- RTMP Client: publish from local file-system to remote server
- Load / stress testing of even third-party RTMP servers
- Compact, small footprint (less than 1.5 MB download)
- Minimal dependencies, ideal for embedding in other applications
- Easy installation, just download and run
How to use Flazr:
- extract the ZIP file to a location of your choosing, it will create a directory called "flazr"
- open a command prompt / console and change directory to "flazr"
- the "flazr/scripts" directory contains some ready-made script samples (which you can try straight-away in the next step)
- the scripts also determine the location and name of the file to save the stream as - once you are happy with your script, use the provided batch files depending on your OS - for example if the script chosen is in "scripts/videolectures.groovy" type the following command:
In Windows:
flazr.bat scripts\videolectures.groovy
InLinux / Unix:
./flazr.sh scripts/videolectures.groovy
You can omit the ".groovy" extension when running the above commands.
